Events February 18, 1958: Lt.(jg) Ralph Walker Anderson, 24, of Orlando, was killed yesterday in the crash landing of his A4D-2 (BuNo 142723) Bantam jet bomber. The Navy said that Anderson radioed that his plane was losing power, and he would attempt to land it in a clearing about four miles S of Fentress, VA, near an Aux. Field of NAS Oceana. Anderson's plane landed wheels up, skidded across a highway and stopped in the yard 60 feet away from a rural home. Orlando Evening Star, Wednesday, 19 February 1958. January 25, 1966: Lt. Phillip Guy Richardson, 31, Navy test pilot, was killed Tuesday when his A-4B Skyhawk crashed at NAS Quonset Point, RI.
